You Live, You Learn
For the past couple of moths I’ve been going to work at 8 am and coming home at 6pm/7pm, despite the fact that I don’t have to keep a timetable. That meant being totally abused by my “boss” and my co-workers, who always take it for granted that I am available to do any task imaginable. One example: when I got there yesterday they told me someone had phoned me last Friday and asked if I could phone her back. Sure, I thought. Well, I could hardly keep my chin straight when I discovered that it was one of THEIR co-workers, who wanted to send the books my center asked (I had written and signed the letter of requisition). But that could have easily been done by THEM. In fact, that’s one of their functions. But noooo… they had to wait 4 days for me to phone the other woman. So I got tired and went to pick up the books myself (who were at a distance of about… 100 metres). That’s how public administrative workers function in Portugal…
So today…. I went at 11am, did all my tasks, came back home at 12.30, prepared my own lunch, and stayed home the whole afternoon. Working, but at home (and with a whole dark chocolate bar next to me)!
p.s. Talked to niece Blue-Eyes through MSN and we promised ourselves a great dinner party next Saturday. Hurray!!!

Just in Case
I’ve decided to make some of my previous posts even more private than the real thing for obvious reasons. Just warning.

MAD Note
It is thus decided that from this moment onwards my most private of the most private moments shall be locked with a password, given to the Worthy ones. If you think you are one of them, feel free to request the key, but don’t forget to provide the reasons for your request. Apart from this, all shall remain (almost) the same.

Valentine’s Day
This year we wanted to do something different, so Mr Bradypus bought us tickets to go to the theatre on the weekend after The Day. (Wasn’t he The Best?)
We went to this great place in Santa Maria da Feira, Europarque, set in a wonderful scenery, with huge gardens all around it, where there are a lot of exhibitions, theatre plays and concerts (EXPONOR, the main exhibition place in the North of Portugal, is actually going to move from Matosinhos to Europarque in the near future). I was amazed to see the place was packed and our tickets couldn’t be better: precisely in the middle of the room, but close enough to almost smell them.
The name of the play was “Achadas e Perdidas” (Found and Lost), and it was written by Maitê Proença (a Brazilian soap opera actress), actually performed by her and another Brazilian actress, Cláudia Borioni. They played 18 different characters (yeah!), in a show filled with witty comments on life, women and men. Besides being great material to make me re-think my thesis, it was soooo funny to watch!
I liked it so much the first thing I did when I got home was to check which other shows were coming to Europarque…. Marco Paulo is going there on March 3rd. Anyone interested?? Eheheh
